Freezing Temperatures Burst Pipe

The broken pipe completely saturated this wall causing it to be removed.

A broken pipe at this Evanston home caused significant damage to the basement, flooding it throughout. Among the materials affected were drywall and carpet. The pipe sat on an exterior wall, and the combination of the below freezing temperatures and the lack of insulation proved to be too much for the pipe to handle. After the leak was stopped, SERVPRO of Evanston arrived to assess the situation and determine the best course of action. The customer decided she wanted to save the carpet, and because this was clean water that option was available. SERVPRO removed the carpet pad that was affected and then made their way to the affected dry wall. As you can see in the image, the wall that the pipe was on suffered the most damage, needing to be removed entirely along with the wet insulation.
